How will Reese deal with what he learned in Zero Day about Finch's involvement with what happened in Ordos? How will affect his feelings for Finch?

I'd prefer a happy ending, of course hot, angry sex is always welcome ;) (extra credit for first-time)

Backstory for a young Finch based on the sedition & mayhem comments in 2.21 (which, holy crap, what a gift of an episode). All the bonus points for incorporating Finch's hinted at history from 2(pi)r (2.11)

So, post 2.21, I want the version of the world where there was no change of heart, no Road to Damascus, where Finch went for revenge rather than redemption, and IFT and Decima are in a shadow war to rule the world. Reese was recruited for his killer nature rather than his boy scout one, and serves as Finch's enforcer - Vader to his Emperor. You could map this out with more people if desired - Carter is Quinn, and she and Fusco run HR, Root is - probably still herself, just now she's openly fighting for the rights of the slaved AI's, and so on.

Bonus points for giving all the guys a Beard of Evil, particularly if Finch has a set of Victorian era muttonchops (Look, he rocks the sideburns already...)

What really struck me was how naive Harold appeared to be - his "we gave the machine to the government and now we're unimportant to them". This attitude really doesn't fit with the Harold Finch we know and love now in 2013. And I don't buy that the was blinded by his love for Grace, because that would be even more out of character for someone like Finch, the Man Who Knows (almost) Everything and can slip into his aliases like into a suit.

So: Explanations? And I really want Reese to find some videoclips or so that show the pre-Nathans death incarnation of Harold and his reaction to it. (I think the prefers the current, controlled, hyperparanoid version but that's just me.)

Zero Day reactions and spoilers!

...well, that would be a hell of a lot easier if some people would just let John protect them, now wouldn't it?

In "Contingency" Reese finds out he was supposed to continue with the Irrelevant list on his own. In "Zero Day", Finch not only gets him out of the way, but eventually gives him the Machine. Whatever else he became along the way, Reese is a soldier - one who has been given a chance to go back to protecting people, so just let him do his job already!

Tl;dr - Reese is getting fed up with/disturbed by how easily Finch removes himself from the equation.

Any degree of shippiness welcome - I'll read platonic stuff as happily as I do pure ship.

Bear knew to defer to Reese because of his confidence and his ease with Bear's commands. He knew to defer to Harold because he saw how Reese deferred to and protected him.

In 2x21 Root said to Harold she wished she had a pet like John.
Somehow she gets to 'borrow' him (by threatening to harm Grace for example). John is unwilling but has to comply anyway, hoping he can go back to Harold soon.

Wouldn't mind dub-con/non-con Root/Reese, or Finch/Reese at the end.

So this is very very odd, though apparently not odd enough to post anonymously, and will probably only appeal to a certain demographic (at least as old as me and/or clinically nostalgic) but... okay, so I have a bird-themed playlist (Oh, Mr. Finch) which pointedly does not include Tom Lehrer's "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park," because, but actually I rather expect Harold would secretly find it funny, so...

Short version: John walks in on Harold and [someone] having a total geek-out Tom Lehrer fest. Extra points if [someone] is Root, but any canon character will do.

If you like the concept but don't know Lehrer's work, feel free to run with another Harold Is Secretly A Fan scenario. I just need something pointlessly funny right now.

So canonically they don't meet (at least that we know of), but I'd love to see Nathan and Grace interact. They have so little in common other than Harold...

So I kinda want the fic where Finch and Reese have gotten together and something happens, maybe Harold unintentionally calls him Mr. Reese/takes charge or maybe John's wearing a tie for some undercover reason and there's some tie!kink involved or just something along those lines and the result is John basically wryly being like, "...so I guess I have that kink." And then they have a lot of fun exploring his subby streak.

Basically I just want the story where John's not previously aware of this kink of his and they (accidentally) discover it together.

Mr. Reese is the mysterious Millionaire with a limp and a lot of resources and information. Indeed HE knows everything about Harold, who has been evading the government since his friend's death, living on the run and learning how to survive on the streets.

Finch fell hard for Ingram when they first met, but Ingram let him down easy. Then when Finch fell in love with Grace, Ingram realized he had feelings for Finch (which is where a lot of his hostility--"have you even told her your real name?"--came from).

Or really, just the backstory of two people who deeply care about each other who also unintentionally keep breaking each other's hearts.

The one where Harold willingly lets John implant a subdermal tracker in him so he never has to lose him again (because this is how these crazies say I<3u).

Post god mode there is some missing time to be filled in after Nathan's death but before Reese.
How does Harold cope w his injuries and become the nerd king?

Reese put a bug on Finch so he would always find him.
Finch put a device on Reese that would keep track of his vitals so he wouldn't be able to lie and say 'he's fine'.

But emotions affect someone's vitals as well, so Finch gets strange data off the device when Reese is in his loft, or when the two of them are close. He investigates.

It's the beginning of the last Star Trek movie (not Into Darkness) so don't watch if you would get spoiled.

I'd just about give my right arm to read a fic where Finch talks to Reese about Nathan. Could be post-ep, could be about Jessica as well.

Harold gives such thoughtful presents on the show... What would be the perfect present for John?

John won't demand that Finch never leave him behind again -- he knows that's not going to work -- but maybe he can ask.

What Reese craves in bed is to "top from the bottom" but his family and military background makes him a bit ashamed of his needs so he doesn't want to talk about it and has only indulged with people he's loved and trusted (he liked Jessica to peg him). He loves and trusts Finch but he's not capable of articulating that either.

Finch is laid back in bed but doesn't like to physically bottom. He tried it several times in his youth but didn't enjoy it and never came from it.

They should be a good match only Reese keeps coming on to Finch in an aggressive way that makes Finch assume that Reese would want him to bottom all the time, and as neither one is talking about their emotional feelings either Finch thinks this is just about sex on Reese's part so as much as he loves Reese, it's not happening.

tltr : Pining and angst caused by lack of communication about wants, needs and feelings. Happy resolution strongly preferred.
