AU where Finch invented a kink matchmaking service, Finch/Reese

(Anonymous) 2014-06-21 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
I just read a fic in another fandom (Available (, by infiniteeight) in which part of the summary was "This is a D/s AU, but it's a pretty mild one -- it's really more like a 'verse in which everyone is kinky and someone created a really effective matchmaking service." The way it played out in that fic was that everyone fills out a questionnaire regularly describing their kinks and how dominant or submissive they are, and a central registry notifies them of potential matches.

So of course I read that and wanted a POI version of that AU. The fic I read didn't say who invented the matchmaking service, or anything about its creation, but it has to be Finch, right? And the matchmaking service is the Machine, and in this AU the Machine changed from just generating everyone's matches to monitoring everyone and reporting a number if that person's relationship was in trouble or if a really important match was near them, and now Finch and Reese and Shaw are all going around saving people's love lives by directly intervening.

Finch/Reese, dubcon fingering

(Anonymous) 2014-07-09 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
When Reese gets Finch back from Root the first time, he has to search him *thoroughly* to make sure she didn't leave anything on or in him. There's no time to explain and he has to be fast and professional about it. Finch's reaction to the cavity search is up to you ...

Root/Shaw, Genrika Has Two Mommies

(Anonymous) 2014-07-14 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
The Root/Shaw and Genrika version of that Baby Blue post-episode trope where Finch and Reese have to pose as Leila's gay parents in the suburbs, and end up being a couple, and Leila's parents, for real. Except with additional hilarity because Root and Shaw are not so much with the being excellent and responsible parents, and are much more with the teaching their eleven-year-old protegee horrifyingly specific and disproportionately violent self-defense and computer security skills with no regard at all for legality or common sense. Bonus for Root being terrifyingly protective of Genrika and wholly unwilling to discuss why. Bonus for Finch and Reese's reaction. Please, nothing actually bad happening to Genrika.

Aw, cute! They would make such badass co-parents!

Finch/Reese, accidental soulbond

(Anonymous) 2014-07-21 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The sort where they temporarily feel each other's feelings/thoughts and have to stay within sight of each other. It doesn't have to be Finch and Reese soulbonded with each other, although that works too. One of them could be accidentally linked to Shaw or Fusco or Carter (who didn't die), and that person could be exasperated with the constant background pining.

Finch/Reese, prostitution, alternate first episode, AU

(Anonymous) 2014-07-29 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Returned soldier Reese is the prostitute hired by wealthy software designer Harold. Up to you who tops, but at the end they should decide to make a more permanent arrangement together.

FILL: A Subtle Art (1/?) (Reese, Finch) [Gen] [No Warnings Apply]

(Anonymous) 2014-08-11 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
(Hey OP, had to try filling this prompt! Probably won't be any more than gen or pre-slash, sorry - much as I love the pairing it's difficult for an aro ace to write. Apologies for any mistakes etc. More to come shortly!)

It was a quiet morning. After rescuing the previous day’s number, Reese was content to lounge around the library and rest, the faint clicking of Finch’s fingers on the keys echoing through the dusty bookshelves as faint background noise while he idly browsed the shelves.

With an amused grin, Reese spotted and picked up a copy of A Beginners Guide to Code. He flicked through the book, wondering if he should take it back to where Finch was working to sit and read. It would be nice to expand his very rudimentary knowledge of code and the dry look Finch would undoubtedly give him would make it worthwhile.

As he was deciding, his eyes caught on the last few pages. It took him a moment to recognise his face staring out at him from above the copyright line, but the likeness was uncanny. He was staring at a picture of himself, wrapped in his overcoat and looking off towards the edge of the page with an almost wistful look on his face.

Reese supposed the drawing was more of a sketch – the rougher, gestural lines toward the edges and the bleed of the pen on the paper, the slight smear on one corner where a hand had rested before the ink had dried and the loose blocking in of the shadows all suggested it had been drawn unplanned and without much delicacy – but as Reese’s own artistry tended towards stick figures, he was very impressed.

Finch must have drawn it, of course. It was odd to think of the other man sitting in front of a canvas instead of a computer, but now he thought of it, Reese figured it made a kind of sense – Grace had been an illustrator, and he’d had the pleasure of being called out by Finch on his ignorance of the art world before. Finch couldn’t be coding all of the time, and he liked academic pursuits – opera, theatre, literature – why not art?

Either way, this was clearly a skill that Finch kept hidden. Reese had seen no evidence of any kind of sketchbook before, though it was very like the other man to hide his talents away in library books, as he had done with their whole operation.

A thrill ran through him as it struck him that he had unearthed another of Harold’s secrets. John allowed himself a moment of smug satisfaction in which to savour the occurrence, before flicking back through the book to see if there were any other sketches hidden amongst the pages.

He struck gold halfway through a chapter on incorporating cascading style sheets into a basic webpage: amongst the gaps in the text and diagrams were smaller sketches, hardly more than doodles, all of them featuring Bear in various positions. They must have been sketched out in the library, each one abandoned and left incomplete when Bear had moved. A particularly hurried sketch, no more than a few lines used to capture the likeness, showed Bear looking away, eyes steady and ears alert. It was undoubtedly the dog reacting to either Reese or Shaw entering the library, which explained the rushed nature of the drawing; Finch would have quickly moved to disguise what he had been doing.

A small smile tugged at his lips as he looked at the dog, deftly captured on the page. This unexpected talent somehow made Finch seem more human, more approachable. Something not connected to their line of work in any way.

There were no further images in that particular book, but now that Reese had an idea of what might be hidden in the pages of the other neglected tomes he began to hunt through them, trying to pick books that Finch would not mind defacing either due to scorn or irony.

It took him until lunchtime to find several more impromptu sketchbooks: a battered survivalist guide and a novelisation of The Terminator are filled with drawings of both Shaw and himself in various stages of completeness, the latter even containing an image of Reese standing off against the iconic robot. Reese liked to think that he wouldn't put himself into a position where he had to go one-on-one with a killing machine, but he had to admit the picture had a certain drama to it.

There was even a surprising find inside a copy of Basic Law Practice, with Fusco’s portrait adorning each chapter title page in various emotional states. Reese felt that the frustrated and sarcastic ones were the best likenesses, but that was likely due to Lionel’s consistent response whenever Reese showed up.

Folded up and tucked into the back of War and Peace was an old receipt for eggs benedict with a quick sketch of Joss on the back. Thinking about it was too painful, so Reese carefully folded it back up and returned it to its place on the shelf, before piling the other books in his arms and heading back to where Finch was still sat, working away. The look on Finch's face when he realised what Reese was holding would hopefully live up to his expectations.

I'm wondering what prompt this came from - it looks like it got detached? But yay, someone filling on the meme! Keep up the good work!

They would be so pretty together.

Root/Reese, teach me about the Machine

(Anonymous) 2014-09-13 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Reese is increasingly frustrated with the Machine becoming a barrier between him and Finch (as in, they keep fighting because of it). Reese wants to understand the Machine better, so he can trust it more, but Finch won't talk about it. So very reluctantly, Reese asks Root. She is so pleased to have Harold's pet come to her, she decides to make Reese work for the information.

Femslash or gen, I'd just like these two to meet. Not sure how it would work, maybe Grace ends up as a patient in the hospital where Jessica works, sometime between the ferry bombing and Jessica's death, so October/November 2010?

Finch/Reese or Gen, mid S1-S2, recovery!fic, The Princess Bride, h/c

One of the times that Reese is badly hurt, possibly post "Number Crunch", he is lying in bed recovering, doped up on painkillers, fading in and out of wakefulness. Finch is reading to him from a first edition of The Princess Bride. Up to author what happens next :)

The drugs the IV line was feeding Reese had the pain tamped down to a scratchy, distant haze, and Harold's voice seemed far off, too, fading in and out between the turning of one page and the next. Reese figured that was why the story was so weirdly paced: obviously he was losing more time than it felt like he was.

Then Harold stopped reading in the middle of a passionate defense of true love and sighed.

"You know, as romantic as this all seemed when I was a boy, at the moment I just keep thinking how young they are. But I seem to recall that a little farther on, Morgenstern gives a fascinating analysis of the economy of interbellum Florin--yes, here it is. The importance of mercery in Florin at this time rested on three things, only two of which were self-evident. First, and least notably, the local wool production..."

Because everything moved a little slowly through the drugs, it took Reese a minute or two to compose his thoughts, but this was important and he stuck to it doggedly, tuning out the dissertation on improved colorfastness and esoteric sumptuary laws that flowed endlessly past him.

"Harold," he said finally, "if you don't stop skipping the good parts, I'm going to throw you off the Cliffs of Insanity."

When he dragged his eyes open to evaluate the ensuing silence, Harold was blinking at him. "I'm sorry, does that mean you don't want to hear about the political significance of tariffs on silk imports?"

"Maybe later, Finch," Reese said, as insincerely as he could.

"Well." Harold looked back down to his book--what was it called, The Royal Wedding? A Prince's Bride? Something like that--not quite quickly enough to hide a smile. "As you wish, Mr. Reese."

Shaw/Fusco, Getting closer

(Anonymous) 2014-09-25 06:20 am (UTC)(link) I the only one who's intrigued by the idea of this pairing? Anything would be awesome; I'd love a scenario where they start spending more time together, drinks after a case, mocking each others' taste in food, 'No, wait until you hear what Finch and Reese did THIS time', etc - but he assumes it's platonic, because come on; Shaw's gorgeous, worldly, and, as his son would put it, a total badass. What could she see in *him*?

Then one day he looks up and she's striding deliberately toward him, and he has a split second to be terrified because that look on Sameen Shaw's face has gotta be the last thing a lot of people have ever seen...and then she proceeds to kiss the daylights out of him.

(tl;dr: Fusco has self-esteem issues but Shaw knows what she wants.)

Finch/anyone, limping

Finch's limp is more pronounced than usual...hehehe ;)

Finch/Reese - John's sexuality compromised by working for CIA

(Anonymous) 2014-09-30 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
I would love a story that explores what working for the CIA did to John's sexuality, and how Finch helps him heal from that. I am imagining something along the lines of John having had to use, being expected to use, his sexuality as a tool and a weapon and as currency, to the point where that's all he really thinks of it as. I can imagine him noticing that Harold is interested and responding to that by giving himself to Harold just because Harold wants him, because it doesn't occur to John to ask himself what he wants, because that's become such a foreign concept to him. I can imagine this being an issue that Finch perhaps overlooked in his original research on John, or just noted and skipped over, so that he now has to do catch up research as he is a bit blindsided by the whole thing, ie by John offering sex and it then being obvious that John's sexuality has been compromised.

Oooooh, yessssss, please. Totally seconded!

Gen or Finch/Reese, post God Mode AU

(Anonymous) 2014-10-11 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
Inspired very much by a line from queenklu's excellent less bigger than the least begin: “You would have stayed,” Harold asks, eyes clear and wondering, “a low paid bodyguard to an eccentric billionaire with no purpose in life beyond spending time with me.”

Post God Mode the Machine goes quiet, and Reese and Finch find a new equilibrium.

Harold/Nathan AU - Young!Harold x 2000s-era CEO Ingram

(Anonymous) 2014-11-10 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
Fatherless & penniless, post-Alethia flashback young!Harold is unable to get a legit job because he's on the run from the authorities, and going to MIT is out of the question.

Destitute, desperate, he's offered a deal with the devil - IFT CEO Nathan Ingram offers to provide him with room & board plus any equipment/resources he wants, in exchange for his programs. . . and his body. Harold becomes Mr Ingram's caged little bird, kept on the 35th floor of IFT. He's got access to hardware beyond his wildest dreams - at the price of being slave to a powerful man used to getting what he wants, when he wants, where he wants.

Ideas (use as you wish):
-Whenever he wants stress relief, Mr Ingram summons Harold to his office, bends him over his desk, and uses him. Fills him up, plugs his hole, and sends him back with a firm slap on the rump. The walk of shame past all the IFT employees is almost as humiliating as the act itself. Do they know?
-When Nathan has more time, he plays with Harold on the well-equipped 35th floor. Ties him up, sex toys, etc. He's a creative man.
-To sweeten business deals, Nathan offers Harold up for use to rival company CEOs. Of course, he's made to address them respectfully: Mr Reese, Mr Ingram, etc. That habit becomes ingrained.
-Mr Ingram dresses his pet in only the best bespoke tailored items. Including a collar and chastity belt.
-When Harold tries to run away or otherwise displeases him, Nathan disciplines him with good thorough spanking and then pounding, marks him inside & out so he knows his place.
-Harold on his knees under Mr Ingram's desk, being his cockwarmer during meetings.
-Since Harold can't go to MIT, Nathan makes sure he gets a thorough education - in academics as well as servicing cock in every way possible.
-What happens in the end? Does Harold get Stockholm Syndrome and accept his place? Does Mr Reese steal him away? Something else? Up to you!

Finch is an android

(Anonymous) 2014-11-20 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Finch is an android created by the machine after real Harold's death by the explosion because it missed its daddy.
Finch may or may not be aware of that fact. (I would prefer he doesn't and remarks inconsistencies in his behavior or habits...)

Finch/Reese, fucking machines

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Harold builds a fucking machine for John. He totally has the skills. Saves him risking his hip when John needs it really rough.

Finch works in a hosptal AU. Rinch.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-08 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Finch is part of the (military?) medical staff and attends to Agent Reese after he was shot. Reese falls in love.

4.18 Spoiler, Reese/Finch or Gen

(Anonymous) 2015-12-08 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
John finds out what Harold did to save Beth in 4.18 "Skip". Maybe he overheard something, or Root or Harold decides to tell him - either way, Reese is not happy.

I was like "whaaaat" when I realized Reese didn't know why Finch & Root weren't talking

Reese/Finch Reese has an oral fixation

(Anonymous) 2016-03-07 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Take it and run with it. I really just want Reese needing something to do something with/in his mouth.

Finch/Reese John likes giving BJ's

(Anonymous) 2016-03-07 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
+1 if they're really slow, sloppy, & wet as hell

+10 if it happens under the desk in the library

+100 if shaw walks in and finch looks completely composed and is working

Reese & the Machine, Dæmon Au

The Machine has gained a dæmon who is oddly attached to John

20 Questions - past Finch/Nathan

(Anonymous) 2016-04-03 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
Because Finch likes to control the information he gives out, Finch and John come to an agreement. John is allowed to ask one question a week, Finch is allowed to not answer 3 questions.

From pre-slash to established. No smut please :)

John almost kills Finch thinking he is the enemy

[personal profile] sned1231 2016-08-25 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I would love to be able to write but since I don't have the talent for it I was hoping some one would take on my prompt involving Reese accidentally either shooting or stabbing or torturing Finch almost to death. Or maybe all of the above, lol. Like maybe John has been given some kind of mind altering drug and doesn't realize he is torturing Finch instead of some bad guy and then he has to nurse him back while dealing with the emotional fallout for them both when he finally realizes what he's done. Rinch relationship encouraged but not necessary. I LOVE drawn out graphic pain hurt/comfort Finch stories, the longer and brutally graphic the better. I would really appreciate anything! I could probably throw out some ideas if need be. Thanks!!!!!

Root/Shaw Hostages AU

(Anonymous) 2017-03-22 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Completely AU where Root and Shaw end up in the same restroom with no prior knowledge of each other. While they're in there, the people outside (restaurant, dinner, gala, museum, bank, ... Take your pick) are taken hostages and no one knows they are there. They work together to get out of the situation and get to know each other along the way.

Might never get filled but I just had this idea and I know I probably won't ever write it so. Yeah, it's out there for you to take it if you're interested!
