Veronica Mars is a person of interest

(Anonymous) 2013-06-30 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Come on, with what Veronica do in daily basis it's no wonder if someone would want to get rid of her. Now it's up to Finch and Reese to protect her. But can they keep their secret a secret from the nosy teenage investigator?

Would this be Veronica circa the series or Veronica the age she'd be now?

Reese got captured and is brought to Root for her experiment into converting enemy agent into puppet or using a 'dollhouse' machine to erase one self and replace it with an imprint of clients' choosing. While being imprisoned against his will, he met Shaw who is also captured by the organization. Can they work together to escape?

Logan Pierce/John, consensual

(Anonymous) 2013-07-09 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Logan Pierce/John (whether as John Warren or as himself).

Pierce is reckless and arrogant and smug; there's no love there, but there's lust and a play for dominance - that Pierce ends up on the bottom of, and loving it.

Consensual, please.

Foot In The Door (Logan Pierce/John), no warnings

[personal profile] astolat 2013-08-10 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
OP, I'm sorry if this isn't what you had in mind, it came out a lot more Finch/Reese and smug!jerk!Logan instead of Reese/Logan, but I figured I would toss it out anyway!

Foot In The Door

When John finally lost his temper all the way, halfway through the flight home, and shoved him down on the bed in the back of his private jet, the main feeling Logan had was an intense sense of triumph: he'd won, he'd gotten to him. The sex was almost an afterthought -- a fucking fantastic afterthought, but Logan wasn't moaning like a whore just because John had a nice cock and knew what to do with it. Victory was the real high, and Logan luxuriated in his.

That feeling lasted right up until the GPS signal from the transmitter died abruptly not an hour after he'd given John the watch. He had a couple of guys on John at the time, with live cameras. John and his highly mysterious and well-dressed friend, and John had just handed over a two million dollar watch and let his pal smash it to pieces without batting an eye. Mr. Bespoke collected his dog shortly afterwards, and the three of them lost his private detectives in less than ten blocks.

The watch showed up on the market a couple of months later, repaired, and Logan chased it down eagerly: but it was being sold by an old guy who met his questions blankly and said he'd found it busted in a pawnshop for eighty-seven bucks and had fixed it up himself. He stared even more blankly at the pictures Logan showed him and shook his head. Logan wanted to believe the guy was selling him a line of bullshit, but if so, it was extremely good bullshit.

John still hadn't called, hadn't texted, hadn't emailed. Logan was feeling a little hurt. Finally he staked out every dog run in the city for two more months until one of his people called to report that Mr. Mysterious and his dog had shown up at the Museum of Natural History, and he jumped in a cab and got there before they'd left. John was nowhere in sight, but the other guy was sitting on a bench watching the dog race around the park. He didn't bat an eye when Logan sat down next to him. "Long time no see," Logan said.

"Mr. Pierce, it's bad enough that you choose to put yourself at risk by pursuing us," the man said. "Handing photographs of myself and my friend to dozens of private investigators and putting them out on the street is considerably worse. Please stop."

Logan didn't bat an eye either, although it was something of an effort. "What would you give to have me stop?"

"A warning, which I've already done," the man said dryly. "If necessary, I'll take further steps."

"Huh," Logan said. "What would those further steps be?"

"You're quite wealthy, Mr. Pierce," the man said. "But your money is young and still largely tied up in stock options, and you've gotten yourself into substantial debt on the strength of it. If your primary line of credit were called, you would be forced to wipe out most of your other assets and severely curtail your discretionary spending."

"You think you can get the Geschellschaft to call my line of credit?" Logan said, amused, until the man gave him a completely flat stare.

"As I said, Mr. Pierce. If necessary."

Logan narrowed his eyes. He was about 85% sure it had to be a bluff, or at least that he could find some way out of the hole, but arguing the point wasn't going to get him anywhere: this wasn't the partner he wanted to be dancing with. "You know, I don't think it's unreasonable of me to want a little closure," he said in wheedling tones. "It didn't occur to me at the time that John was the love 'em and leave 'em type."

The guy jerked around and gave him another look, astonished this time. Logan gave him a sunny smile full of teeth, privately satisfied: no, Mr. Bespoke hadn't struck him as the kind of boss John would share his sex life with. There was abruptly a growl in front of him; Logan jumped and looked at the dog, which was standing right in front of him with bared teeth, ears sharply forward.

"Hey boy," Logan said, offering a hand. The dog's lips peeled back a little further and it growled again. "Af, Bear," the man said absently, and then reached for his leash. The dog didn't take its eyes off Logan while the man clipped it on and stood.

"I'm afraid you'll have to endure your heartbreak, Mr. Pierce," he said. "Please remember what I've said." He inclined himself slightly and tugged; the dog gave Logan one last snarling look for goodbye as they left.

But Logan figured that John would respond to the provocation, and he was delighted to see the motorcycle parked at the far end of the basketball court, a week later. He cut his game short and jogged down towards it. John took off his helmet. Logan beamed at him and rolled onto his toes and down again, feeling gleeful and effervescent. "Hope I didn't mess up your working relationship," he said cheerfully.

"You didn't," John said, and there was a low, smoky note in his voice.

Logan dropped flat to his heels and stared at him. "No, really?"

John gave him a heavy-lidded, satisfied smile, then leaned in and said softly, "Really. And Logan? The next time you put anyone on his tail, he won't have to take steps. Because I'll get there first."

"Hey, seems to me you should be thanking me," Logan said, peevishly.

"Thank you," John said. "Now don't do it again."

"Yeah, yeah," Logan said, waving a hand, turning away. "Come on, seriously, though," he wheeled back; John paused with the helmet halfway up. "Is it the job? I could put together a great job, John."

"He didn't give me a job," John said. "He gave me a purpose. And you haven't got one to give."

That stung just a little. Logan's eyes narrowed: John was wearing an earpiece, and the connection LED was lit up green. He leaned in. "Yeah, but I was better, though, right?" he said. "Please, you got a hell of a charge shoving me down on my face. Don't tell me he'll even let you do that."

John's mouth quirked. "No," he said. "I let him."

Logan scowled: he could just imagine Bespoke back in his lair somewhere listening in and enjoying that -- enjoying John, bending him gently down over a desk, John spreading himself wide open for it-- "Fine," he said sulkily, backing up as John slid on the helmet. "Go live happily ever after, whatever. And text me back once in a while or I'll keep staking out your dog!" he yelled abruptly, as the motorcycle pulled away from the curb, a new plan already forming in his head: nothing in the world wrong with a threesome, and after all, he'd proven he was pretty good at getting to them both.

Harold/Nathan, at least on Harold's side

(Anonymous) 2013-07-09 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm fine with unrequited, although I'd be ecstatic for some requitedness.

I've only seen up and including 2x15 so far, so there may be more flashbacks to support or contradict my headcanon, but I already have this headcanon of Harold having a thing for Nathan, with all the heartbreak that comes from what happens later.

(I can't get over the fact that Nathan built the Irrelevant List backdoor, while Harold was ready to put the project behind him (that's as far as I got with the flashbacks) but it's now Harold whose life is all about the Irrelevants.)

So, I neeed to read (or watch) some Finch/Nathan, please. :)

POI "Proteus" AU: Reese/Fahey, slash

(Anonymous) 2013-07-10 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
What Finch said during Proteus episode about the machine should have give them Alan Fahey's number...what if the machine did that? Reese had to stalk an FBI agent and realized he's dealing with an amateur, under-appreciated but dedicated agent. Reese has to get closer to Fahey to gain his trust hence the undercover within FBI headquarter. Meanwhile Fahey's unofficial investigation on Jack Rollin directed a certain killer's attention to him.

Will's number is up and Harold is panicking. To make sure Will's safety is guaranteed, Harold assigned John to be with Will 24 hours until the danger is over. John found Will adorable and ended up seducing him to his bed.

Reese, Finch, Reese in trouble and Finch to the rescue

(Anonymous) 2013-07-13 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Reese ends up hooded and restrained in a abandoned building somewhere - for once he can't free himself. It's getting hard to breathe, his mouth is duct taped under the hood and he's pretty sure this could be it. But he still his ear piece and Finch manages to figure out he is in dire need of help. He keeps talking to Reese, keeping him calm, while he uses the GPS in his phone to track John down and then comes for him. Reese won't admit how badly shaken he is, but waking from a nightmare at the library he finds Finch has sat up watching him, despite how sore it's made his back, as if he was expecting the nightmare. But Finch is having his nightmare while awake, imagining if Reese had suffocated before he got there.

Can be slash if writer wishes!

Finch, Reese, Reese/OMC, possessiveness, claiming,

(Anonymous) 2013-07-13 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
The boys have to go undercover - Finch as the nerdy rich guy; Reese as his aide/chauffeur; Fusco as Finch's security guy because they figure they need a third man this time around. The POI is a slimy creep, wealthy and entitled, and he decides Reece would be a nice addition to his staff. Lots of inappropriate physical contact, insinuations (some very wrong), most of which take place when Finch is not there or attention diverted. And Reece can't do anything about it because they need to stay in character. But Fusco is damned if he's going to stand there and watch that, and when push comes to shove, he steps in - he is Finch's security after all. POI can't take the hint though, and actually offers to 'buy' Reece off Finch. Finch then finds out from Fusco what happened and goes ape, and makes it very clear Reece is his. When they eventually take the POI down, POI is stunned at how BAMF Reece is, and Finch is all 'yep, he's mine and you're very lucky you didn't go too far because really it's me you have to worry about'.

Reese, Finch, hurt/comfort, Ep missing scene 1.08 Foe

(Anonymous) 2013-07-14 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
Finch is going to have to speak to John about not telling him everything - because it's Fusco who reports the state he found John in, tied to a chair, post torture, towel around his neck.

Finch ends up feeding John pain killers and cleaning up everywhere the needles were inserted and sending John off to bed because he still hurts.

And John is still angry with himself for making that mistake and allowing himself to get close enough to his opponent for pressure points to be used on him.

In which Harold Finch is a ten year old genius (or whatever age you want him to be) who hired Reese to work the numbers with him as well as protecting him from government agents who will do anything to capture him and handed him to CIA or Division.
Reese is understandably confused and a bit reluctant at first to accept a job offer from a ten year old billionaire with thick glasses. The boy is too mature for his age and Reese get protective of him eventually.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-18 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Harold was four years old when he started correcting his dad's code.

At first it was just kid stuff -- closing brackets, converting strings that should have been numerical variables, that kind of thing. It wasn't fun, exactly; soothing might have been a better word. He didn't have to understand everything the program was meant to do to use the predictable rules of syntax to smooth out minor tangles and restore order to the rows of symbols, and measuring his progress was always as simple as running the compiler and seeing how many errors he'd cleared away. He liked it, and as time went by and his comprehension of the code he was working with increased, he liked it even better.

It mattered more after the divorce. Not the first one, of course -- Harold couldn't remember a time when his dad had been married to Olivia, although he'd been alive for part of it -- but the second one, when Harold's mother left them. There had always been nights when his dad fell asleep in front of his computer, but during and after the divorce, there were a lot more of them, and his work suffered for it. His code got messier and messier in the hours before he passed out, and cleaning it up meant a lot of swearing and wasted time in the morning, if Harold couldn't get to it before then.

That was always the problem -- his dad was happy to let him read through his programming books and even play at writing baby programs, but real work was different, and if he caught Harold debugging his code, he'd thank him and laugh and then revert all his changes without even looking at them. Sleeping people are pretty easy to predict, though, and Harold got very good at knowing when he needed to stop typing for a minute to let his dad fall back asleep, or figuring out whether he had time to get back to bed before he woke up, or if he was going to have to pretend he'd gotten up to check on him. It was frustrating to have to stop in the middle of a really good idea, but he got better at making changes in a way that would make sense if he got interrupted, and at using his time so that wouldn't happen during a particularly complicated bit.

All of it got easier after his dad started drinking more.

It got easier still after Harold's enrollment at the virtual school whose brochures he'd sent out for meant that even his dad had to admit that he needed not just a computer of his own -- which he'd had since he was a toddler, a scuffed-up hand-me-down that by far was the best toy he'd ever owned -- but network capability. He still had to make sure his dad was really asleep before he made changes, but the ability to just copy and paste entire sections of code was a tremendous help. Working in his room, he could get lost in his work in a way he never had before. That was when his programming skills really began to take off.

By the time he was eight, Harold was responsible for all of their best ideas, and the fact that his dad seemed to credit the alcohol couldn't really take the warmth of accomplishment away. The progression from simple fixes to small improvements to meaningful innovation felt like the most natural thing in the world -- not effortless, but right. Each new project his dad got came with better pay and more interesting puzzles than the last, but even so, they couldn't keep pace with Finch's improvement.

He started looking for bigger challenges.

Finch/Reese, POI AU, hurt!Reese, angst, happy endings

(Anonymous) 2013-07-16 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Nathan is always trying to fix Harold up, to no avail. Harold has no time or interest in a relationship, thank you very much - he's too busy and besides he's never found anyone he felt was anything other than fake and after his money.

Then he sees his new neighbour - the strong, silent (and sexy as hell type) that is John Reese. He's in a wheelchair, his leg all strapped up, and Harold can see from a mile away (Reese hides it well but Harold is very good at seeing through levels of code) that the man has been severely broken.

At first all he wants to do is befriend John, because he notices no one comes to see him. But eventually he realises he has more than a platonic interest in the man, and starts to try and court him. The problem is that John has trust issues about forty miles wide, but this makes Harold all the more determined to look after him and fix whatever has hurt John and try to help him realise that just because things were bad, they can be better now.

Bonus if Finch gets his police friends Carter and Fusco to look into Reese's history and find out he is hiding from his abusive boyfriend Mark Snow and together they try to find a way to protect John from him.

The demon left Jessica's husband's body shortly before Reese supposedly ambushed him to maim and torture for revenge. Now the demon is back and it has decided to play a deadly game with Reese and Finch. Can Reese and Finch figure the supernatural soon enough to level the playing field?

Reese/OMC, Reese + Elias, attempted non-con, drugged!Reese, honourable!Elias

(Anonymous) 2013-07-17 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It's just chance, but Elias is in a bar watching to see if one of his lieutenants is on the take (because sometimes you just have to see to things yourself) when he sees Reese. He knows something is wrong with him straight off - looking like he's drunk but not really, and the guy he's with is practically pawing him in a private booth. Despite their opposite paths, Elias respects Reese and he can't stand there and watch this. So he intervenes, forcing the stranger to admit to drugging Reese. Elias drags Reese out of there, and puts him in a hotel room. He stays long enough to make sure Reece is out of danger, and then calls Finch to come and get him.

And then sends two of his guys to go after Reese's would be rapist.

Finch in not so many words, and without telling Reese, promise Elias a get of out jail free card in thanks for saving John.

Finch/Reese, Finch + Reese - 5 times people got the wrong idea about them and one time they didn't

(Anonymous) 2013-07-18 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
5 plus one - five times people wrongly assumed that Finch is screwing John. Maybe they see him do little possessive things, like brushing John down after he gets up from a fight, or adjusting his collar. Like Finch cooking for them, or vice versa. Like Finch's tension levels when he's waiting for news that John is ok, or when John is not ok and Finch is going to get him. Like when Logan or Root or anybody casts a considering eye in Reece's direction and Harold sort of gets in the way, staking ownership like it's his job.

And the plus one, they weren't before, and everyone is finally convinced they got it wrong, when the boys do actually get together.

Nikita/POI Crossover, Eventual Reese/Alex

(Anonymous) 2013-07-19 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Instead of Nikita and Division, it was Reese and CIA that is responsible for the elimination of Alex's family. Like Nikita, Reese ended up sparing young Alex. Alex ended up in prostitution and drugs and then meet Reese shortly after he work numbers with Finch. Feeling guilty, Reese made it his mission to get Alex clean whether she wants to or not. Alex gets better and work number with them for as long as she might be able with her limited knowledge of field work. Reese trained her self-defense though. Then Snow came and found about Alex and turned her against Reese by showing her a feed of Reese killing her family.

Finch/Reese or Finch + Reese, seen through other's eyes

(Anonymous) 2013-07-19 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Through a communication problem or something seen and misconstrued, everyone now thinks that Finch is screwing Reese. It doesn't quite matter what Reese says, he can't get people to change their minds. Harold seems oddly unconcerned which Reese is suprised by. He expected imminent 'we're not gay' panic. In fact Harold is so off hand about it all, making comments something like 'if people want to be so ridiculous as to think I'd sleep with you'...which hurts Reese, a little. Of course, Harold got distracted and never finished. What he was actually going to say was 'while we're investigating a number and before I actually have a chance to court you'. And then Reese gets a close call - he's fine - but Harold just explodes and takes John back to his apartment and decides just maybe the courting can wait.

Finch, Reese, friendship or slash, getting to know each other

(Anonymous) 2013-07-19 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Finch is a very practical man. He understands the importance of knowing the big things and the little things, and so he decides he is going to learn John and - his privacy notwithstanding - John is going to learn him.

For instance it's good to know that John is allergic to the latex in medical gloves, so that Harold can stock up on the non latex kind in his first aid kit. And it's good to know that John has a phobia of snakes, unlikely though it is that should every prove to be an issue. And that he's ticklish. Which probably isn't relevant to much, but you never know.

And he makes sure that John knows that if his back seizes, he needs heat and a solid flat surface to fix it. John knows what meds he's on. He knows what prescription Harold's glasses are, and that he absolutely does not like people standing to one side where he can't easily get a look at them.

Basically them building up levels of knowledge on each other, whether because one simply reveals it or because it comes out as a result of a case, a stupid accident, etc.

Finch/Reese or Finch, Reese, dark!Machine, manipulated Reese

(Anonymous) 2013-07-19 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
The Machine loves Harold. And it will do anything to keep him safe. That means keeping John safe. So it does. Editing information on cases, acting on its own before John has a chance to get involved in a fight if it deems it mathematically probable that this time John will be killed or too seriously injured. Mark Snow dies when his itinerary is passed to a drug lord he crossed. Elias finds almost all of his bank accounts emptied with a email received warning him the rest will follow if he does not stop trying to acquire Reese as his new lieutenant. But that's not enough - it can't take the chance that someone will lure Reese away in another fashion. It cock blocks like a demon, making sure that no romantic entanglement will get between the guys. And if nudges them both towards each other, all the better to cement their relationship.

Bonus if the Machine knew the needs Finch would have, and manipulated things in Reese's life so that he would end up alone and on the run for Finch to track down and hire.

Finch/Reese, vampire!Finch, h/c, protectiveness, claiming, slightly crackish?

(Anonymous) 2013-07-19 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Finch becomes a vampire. Nothing else really changes.

John adapts (and starts taking iron supplements and stops eating garlic). The Machine texts them every day with the time of the sunrise and the sunset.

But if Elias even glances in John's direction one more time with that avaricious look on his face, Harold will probably coat the city with the blood of him and his lieutenants.

Just looking for vampire!Finch, who is not Angel and does not fly or change into wolves or bats and cannot put the glamour on people. And who still has an injured back and a liking for green tea.

Maybe eventually Harold turns John and even Bear because really, going on without them isn't possible.

Finch doesn't hesitate - he jumps in right after him, and saves him, just as Fusco arrives and hauls the two of them out. Undercover, Reese as a bodyguard to another rich guy (he is starting to wonder if the machine isn't messing with him by now) who also likes to buy his clothes...and dress him (something which Reese quickly discourages him from). He wonders why Finch sounds so tight over the phone to him. Finch won't admit it but he is furious at Reese having to wear clothes bought for him by someone else. As soon as the job is over, Finch summons Reese back to the library and strips him of the clothes (it helps that Reese got a bit roughed up and so Finch can cover by checking that Reese is ok, looking for injuries, etc).

Reese calls Finch on it - who does he think he is fooling?
